Is it 1776 all over again?

I read this today on MPR and watched as it propagated to other news sites. I was really hoping Obama would bring some change, but all I see it the same as the last 8 years
More war
More focus on cars
More focus on having more
We CANNOT spend your way out off what we created starting post WWII. We need to cut back and live within our means.

These are the same type of comments that Bush used after 9/11. I hate that man, but at least he sent the working people money first instead of firing more money that never existed towards the fat cats.

What we need is to remember why we left Europe, fought back against that tyrannical government in Europe and what this country was found upon. Sometimes when government gets too big it needs to be trimmed back in any means required.

Do some research on the revolution and see the similarities of what has happened and what is happening.

Yes, agreed completely. The gradual creep of one thing after another from luxury to "necessity" is the biggest problem.

American politics is great disappointment for me. I don't we are either a democracy or a republic; we are merely a nation dominated by special interest groups.
