Just in time for school to start

Just in time for school starting, so be prepared to make sack lunches which is better for everyone anyway since we do not support local food systems in our school lunch system.

We don't have lunch programs here, but the kids can, on one or two days during the week, purchase pizza etc from the snack stand. I typically make lunches everyday, as my kids don't like food from the snack stand.

Last year Canada had a huge listeriosis outbreak from a major luncheon meat manufacturer. Several people died. So we haven't purchased premade luncheon meat for almost a year. I usually make a large roast that we carve up, made our own salami or put other things on sandwiches such as cheese, pb, etc.

I think it was last week there was a report that the same manufacturer had another listeriosis recall on 9 varieties of weiners/sausages.
